I posted this one on the family blog as well, but I wanted to stick it here as well, since it's an art project. This one has provided lot's of entertainment over here. We put together the catapult and colored and numbered some paper plates for point keeping. Only we didn't end up keeping points, we just thought it was cool to see how many papers would make it into a plate.

Playdough Recipe

This is a recipe I will keep forever, and the playdough lasts a super long time also. I just keep it in a tupperware container. I love the texture to this playdough, it's the best I've ever used. Click on the title, and she'll show you step by step to see what it's going to look like as you make it. This has provided my kids hours of fun!

Easily Forgotten

For some reason I can't find the pictures off my camera, but the title takes you to the family fun website where I found this idea. This project was done by Kaleb and I, but it was sure fun. It has been quite a while since I've done any projects, so it's about time I get started up again! Christmas time is soon, so I'm sure there will be some fun things for the kids and I to do.

Thrifty Find

 

 

 

 

I found this twin-size quilt at my favorite store in the world, Desseret Industries! Did I spell that right? It's in perfect condition, 4 dollars! I was so thrilled, I had to share this great find. I usually try(as much as I can with a two year old running around), to make a quick look through the store to see if I can find anything that we could use. It's kind of a hit-or-miss, but when I do find something, it's a ton of fun. :)

I came up with a cheap way of displaying Kaleb's handprint. I went to the dollar store and bought a small crate, taped colored paper on it, let Kaleb decorate it with his drawing and some stickers and put it up on the wall. It's nothing fancy, but it's up on the wall and out to see, which is just about a miracle for me!

Baked Clay

 

 

 

A while back ago when I was watching a couple of Julie's kids, we made some hand prints in clay. Although I'm going to try a different recipe, I thought I'd go ahead and share this one anyway. It turned out ok, but there were air bubbles and so they are cracking and feel very fragile. So, here is Denver, Tate and Kaleb's hand prints. Julie, I'll get these to you when I see you next.
BAKED CLAY
4 cups flour
1 cup salt
3/4 cups water

Press out dough and have a child make his handprint on it. Bake at 325 for 1 hour (I think I ended up baking these for 3 hours because they were still soft). Will be light brown in color.
